On May 14, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom released a revised budget proposal as part of the state’s effort to address the negative economic impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic and public health emergency. The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) released the details of the fiscal year (FY) 2020-2021 May Revision pertinent to DHCS operations. Funding for various proposals in the Governor’s January budget has been withdrawn, resulting in general fund savings of $596.9 million in FY 2020 to 2021.
