On April 15, 2020, the California Department of Social Services (DSS) created a fund to provide stimulus payments to undocumented immigrants. The appropriations were released in a memo, “Section 36.00—California Department Of Social Services, Increase Of Emergency Funding For COVID-19 Response.” Augmentations to the Budget Act items are needed to provide support to state government and non-profits to protect the health and safety of Californians and reduce the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.
